Fu-Kim Vietnamese Palace in Houston
Vietnamese food in Houston is best described by the way the Vietnamese like to descibe many things Vietnamese: it was created by the Chinese, but perfected by the Vietnamese. Fu-Kim is Houston's fulcrum for experiencing vietnamese food the way it's meant to be tasted, but suffers perhaps from too much of a chinese influence. Slippery slope, whatever. Order a big ol' steamed fish and you will be smiling until the next day, and try lots of seafoods here. Good rendition of americanized standbys, but look for spicy dishes which emphasize the vietnamese aspect of Chinese cuisines . Excellent place for Chinese New Year , as a dragon dancing team is set loose in the gigantic dining rooms, and apparently its pretty cool. This place is HUGE rediculous seating. like 3-4 rooms that seat 3-400 a piece.
